looking to load 300-350gr hornady, rem, or sierra for hunting in a single shot.
does anyone have a load for these bullets they like? I don't want something that going to rip my arm off just something to hunt with and maybe use lead on targets.

Check any of the reloading manuals, especially Lyman and Hornady. The online Hodgdon tables also work well.

Or, you could do a search here or any other site that supports the cartridge.

Factory 300 gr jacketed bullets are loaded to 1800-1850 fps .These are light recoil but most are too fragile putting huge entry holes like 2'' dia at up to 50yds. That's when I switched to premium bullets Barnes all copper or Swift A frame .With a strong Ruger #1 or Browning 1885 you might push them to 2200 fps. Can't help you with cast. Of course at .45 cal you don't need expansion.

As much as I don't like Hornady, their 350 grain RN jacketed bullet works really well in my 45-70. I like this bullet over Varget and H4895 powder. The power edge goes to H4895. Chrony shows the 4895 loads ~1960 fps.

Lots of folks like IMR 3031 powder in the 45-70. I've used it but found it to be quite dirty. It also has a much sharper raport than other powders I use.

A couple years back I started casting my own lead bullets using the Lee 340 grain mold. They drop at ~343 grains and are a good fit to the barrel on my Guide Gun. Varget and 4198 are the better powders with these bullets and are loaded to lesser velocity than the jacketed bullets.

You must work up the load for your rifle. No two, even 2 identical consecutively numbered rifles, will shoot the same ammo the same way.
Makes no difference who made the bullet. What bullet weight you have/want matters. So you need to pick one. Then work up a load. Cast or jacketed matters too.
