45/70 ammo prices?

I was wondering what is the lowest a person could expect to pay for 45/70 ammo for practice purposes. Can you get it for less than $20 a box?

I've gotten it for about $13 a box for plinking lead. You just have to look around. It also depends on what type of ammo you're looking for. Don't expect to get quality hunting ammo cheap. Some of those boxes can be very expensive but for just basic plinking ammo you can find it fairly cheap. it might be cheaper to just get a loader and make your own.

Black Hills usually goes for $20/20, but down here in San Angelo TX the local shop carries $16/20 in PMC's cowboy line

The darn stuff used to cost less than 30-06 till they came out with all the new 45 cal rifles. New brass was 1.75 a box at Bi-Mart while the loaded stuff with the lead 405 slug was 3 bucks less a box than .223 rounds. Grrrr.
