So I'm looking at Brenneke products because I just bought some of their 12ga products, and i notice they have a .410 slug. Seems pretty cool for standard shotguns, but then my mind and their literature meet in the same place: "Judge" style pistols.
They're hyping it as an effective defense load against big, small, and also 2-legged critters. They market it as bear defense/small game/home defense.
So here's the question, what would make a .410 slug better than a standard .45 Colt cartridge? I've got the numbers in front of me but its a bit silly to post because the .410 info is based on shotgun barrels.
Is there any merit to a .410 slug in a .45 revolver? Are they just trying to cash in on the Judge craze on top of having a solid performer for .410 shooters? Seems to be one step forwards and three steps backwards to me in a pistol.
For the record I'm not a fan of the Judge except for fun and maybe as a dedicated "Anti-carjacking pistol".
