.44spl LCR?

Don't know how much interest there is, but the modularity of the LCR would make it possible. I'll bet that we see LCR's in auto calibers (9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP) first....esp. if they're clipless like the CA Pit Bull.

I want them to make an LCR with 3" and 3 1/2" barrels. A 9mm conversion would be great, even if the cartridges did not eject.

Reconfigure a ugly gun into a more interesting caliber/chambering and you still have an (expletive deleted) ugly gun.

The cylinder would have to be significantly larger to accommodate the .44 load, so you'd need a different frame.

As far as a version in 9mm, it would be neat, but I'm not sure what it would do that .38 Special can't in that barrel.

It would have to be an LSR (Light Service Revolver), a medium frame wheel gun using the advanced materials, design, and assembly techniques pioneered with the LCR.

I would love to see the LSR offered in the following configurations:

10-shot .22 LR
9-shot .22 Magnum
8-shot .327 .32
6 or 7-shot .357 /.38
5-shot .44 Special

for the semi-auto crowd:

8-shot .32 ACP
7-shot .380
7-shot 9mm
6-shot 10mm
5-shot .45 ACP

Are you listening Ruger?

.44 spl is like a ladies version of the .45 Colt.

Make one for the Colt, larger frame and all, and I'm in.

44 Special with 240gr .429/.430 diameter bullet operating at full saami spec of 15,500 PSI vs. 45 Colt with a 250gr .451/452 diameter bullet operating at full saami spec of 14,000 psi are more or less in the same neighborhood.

In identical mid sized guns the 44 has the advantage (more metal between chambers and/or bolt cut) if loading over SAAMI specs.

STRANGE!!!

You know the other day I was thinking the same thing! A .44 spl. LCR would be quite an interesting proposition. I'd like to see it in a 2.5-3" barrel. The Charter Arms bulldogs supposedly have been a roller coaster ride in terms of quality and durability throughout the years, and this is one reason that kept me from seeking one out. Who wouldn't like the idea of a lightweight, compact yet powerful snub nose that would be truly reliable and durable ala Sturm Ruger? I dare say I'd buy one.

I wouldn't be interested at all in a .44 special version. I don't care for the .44 Special personally.
That being said, if they released a 10mm LCR, I would be first in line for one. I could carry full power loads when carrying the gun, and practice with cheaper .40 ammo. That would be ideal for me.

Hi,
Would you be interesred in .44spl version of the LCR?

maybe.

.45acp ballistics (on paper) from a rimmed revolver round I find interesting. I'm actually ssort of keeping an eye out for a CA Bulldog.

Ask the Ruger CEO....

Ruger.com had a "ask the CEO" section about new products & consumer input.
I and a few others suggested a .44spl caliber LCR but I highly doubt Ruger will do it soon.
I'd think a compact SR45 .45acp pistol would be out first. ;)

The Ask The CEO program may still be around.
