Best choice, .44 Special, .44 Magnum, or .45 Colt?

My .44s:

And my .45s:

Far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out.

Well duh. By the time you've worked your way from the first to the last gun you forget what the first gun was like, so you have to start over again. It's an endless loop, rinse and repeat forever.

It's sad just sad.;)

I like 45 colt myself. I just posted because I want to know about the grips on the 44 with the gold trigger guard. Those are cool looking

.44 Magnum is in a different power class, but in spite of what I am sure will be a passel of posts from their fans, .44 Special, .44-40 and .45 Colt are all much of a muchness, effectively the same in power and performance. All can be loaded much hotter than factory, given a gun of adequate strength.

I'm a big .45 Colt fan although I do like the .44 Mag. My vote goes to the .45 Colt, just something about that cartridge that I really enjoy.

Bob, the correct answer is staring you in the face.
Several of each.

And you do need at least one .41 and at least one .30 Carbine. My .30 Carbine Blackhawk is by far the most accurate of the lot.

In this cast I will say my favorite is the 45 Colt, I like the 44spl & 44mag but I really enjoy the 45's push rather than the snap of the 44 in the hand. That is a nice collection you have there, a Ruger 45 SA 4 5/8 feels just right for me.

and just a few minutes ago I started a new thread with the last sentence being that I haven't owned a big SA revolver since the early 90s and need to get myself one to fill that obvious gap. Now after seeing this I've got a complex...
