.44 Ruger Superblackhawk

I have a super blackhawk. When I shoot I can group 4 shots into a 1" area generally and 2 shots will fall below and to the right another 1.5" or so. My friend says its the cylinder, that each one shoots different a little. Should I purchase a new cylinder?

Also curious if anyone has converted theirs to .45 colt or .454 and if they thought it was worth the bother/cost.

Mark one cylinder with a small dot of white paint--or SnoPaque or shoe polish, whatever. This gives you an index.

Then, shoot two or three cylinders' worth, to see if the flyers are always from the same place in the Wheel of Fate. If they are, find a revolver expert.

If they're not, consider the possibility of operator error.

I've not heard of a personal conversion to .45 Colt, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done. The frame is strong enough to serve as a base for a hellacious five-shot monster...
