.44 or .45 Vaquero

I'm considering a Single Action .44 or .45. Any thoughts on caliber choice and on Vaquero vs. Black Hawk? Any opinions on the Colt Cowboy?

I find that the .44 Magnum is the most versatile and useful. It offers the option of shooting the low recoil (but highly accurate) .44 Spedial loads when that is what you need and the full power ,44 Magnum cartridges when very powerful loads are needed.

Also, the 44 rifles are typically more accurate and versatile. In cowboy shooting, you'll want to use the same ammo in revolver and carbine.

If you handload, I would venture that the .45LC is the more versitile. There have been a couple threads on the FL lately about this same topic. The .45lc is more powerful, and at lower pressures than the .44 mag. The Vaquero, from what I understand, is the strongest SA revolver made.
