I guess I'm the new guy in town.

I've been reading the forum for about a month and enjoying every minute. :)

Sometime in the past month I thought I read an article that had a link to Rugar's web site for a New Model Super Blackhawk ss 5.5" with Bisley grips.

Am I dreaming or is old age catching up with me?

I've been searching through Firing Line and even tried going to Rugar's site and searching with no luck. The only thing I could find was the Hunter model with Bisley grips.

I have a New Model Super Blackhawk ss 5.5" in 44mag. Since new I've only put 6 44 spec through it to try it out. Have'nt got back out to try mags yet.
When I bought it I looked at the Bisley grips on the hunter model since my paws are good size, but the shorter barrel length won out.

Has anybody out there with big paws thats tried both the regular grip and the Bisley found enough difference to switch to the Bisley grips.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I have a Bisley Vaquero 5.5" in .45 Colt. I prefer the Bisley grip but not by a big margin over the standard grip. I can get along with either just fine. My paws are on the large side, but not huge.

What you probably saw was a limited edition Bisley made for the distributor Acusport. They came out in .44mag, .41mag, and .45 Colt at different years in limited numbers. I bought the .45 Colt and .41mag models (I'm no real fan of the .44mag).

Thanks for the pics Majic, those are real beauties!

I guess I'm loosing it cause I'm sure one of the discusions I was reading this month had a link back to Ruger's web site. And it seems it was a Special Edition on their site.
I usually save the path to stuff that catches my eye but I didn't, wished I would have. :(

Well if I'm dreaming, maybe Ruger should make a New Model Super Blackhawk ss 5.5 with Bisley grips. ;)

Ruger has just updated their website. The old site did have a picture of the Acusport model even though it was never a catalogued item.

Thanks Majic for straightening me out. :)

Good to know that I wasn't dreaming.

Still wish Rugar would make it a catalog item!

By chance would anybody know some good sites to look for the Limited Edition NMSB Bisley-Ruger in 44 mag ?
