44 mag clear out....

Over the years I've accumulated numerous different types of bullets to test in many of my current and former firearms. That has left me with a few stragglers here and there of differing weights and brands....44 is no exception. I have 180 XTPs, Remington 240g JHP, Powerbond 240g FP and finally more than a few handfuls of some True Shot 310g WNFP on the shelf.

Scrounging every last piece of 44 mag brass that I have on hand I was able load up quite a little pile of miscellaneous ammunition for the range......I was able to rid my shelf of 3 boxes of partials......here's a visual sample of them.

(Feel free to critique my handloading and we'll discuss why I did something or how I should have done something)

All but the 240g Powerbonds are minimum H110 charges.....which puts the 180 XTP's in the 29 grains of powder range! That load is going to breath fire.....and 310g True Shot bullets are a massive handful when loaded to the hilt......but man, they are fun to let people try who think that a 44 mag doesn't have much "stank" compared to the bigger guns.

Last weekend I cleared out my 38 caliber overruns.....those will get shot up much quicker. The 44 mag gets shot a lot less

Sounds like a good project to help free up some space. That 310 WNFP almost looks like a full wadcutter. What do you shoot that in?

Your original picture shows up fine, but the photobucket link doesn't.

I've done similar things.
It's lots of fun firing a variety of rounds in succession.
Good practice, too.

Everything gets shot out of my Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter....Except for a learning experience quite a few years ago with Taurus the only 44 mags I've owned have been a Ruger of some sort.
