Hello All, Ihave a question for all. Where is all the 44 mag ammo? I have gone to many of my local gun stores and can't find much .44 mag ammo. And when i do the prices are rediculous. For example Blazer ammo which use to be some of the cheapest ammo around is now $32.00 dollars a box. I remember when you could buy this ammo for $18.00 a box. I have been checking online ammo distributors and can't find many that sell this caliber in bulk. Anyone know where i can buy .44 mag in bulk for a descent price? thanks Scott in CT

When, exactly, did you see it last for $18/box?

Remember, in the last 3-4 years, ammunition has gone up by 50-100%, depending on caliber and type. I don't see any .44 mag ammo locally for under $30/box, so I am wondering if that $18 is from a few years back. Copper and lead prices have gone up, as has demand for ammunition, and that means the gun food is now more expensive.

AIM Surplus does have some 180gr JHP ammo for $20/box and 240gr JHP for $27/box, but that's as good as I've seen it.

I can still get Blazer .44 Mag 240 gr. JHP for under $25. Winchester white box 240 gr. JHP around $32 to $35. Hunting season is coming up, and people are getting ready.

Heck, try finding .44 special. On the rare occasion I do find it locally, it seems to be more expensive than the magnum for some reason. Anyway, I'll recommend Georgia Arms. Based on my personal experience and what I've read, they reload some pretty good ammo. A lot of their products on the site are marked as out of stock. But if you give them a call you may find otherwise.
