44 mag ammo

I'm picking up a Marlin lever action 44mag for next year's whitetail. I want to know if there are any ammo producers who load 44mag with a slower burning powder for use in rilfes for hunting? Or will a good handgun load do the trick

.44 Mags seem to be popular this year

When I was hunting with .44 Mag rifles I liked a 300grn JSP. Just the standard off the shelf ammo worked well in all my .44 rifles.
Ruger .44 Carbines (I've owned 2)
Remington 788 (bolt action 22" or 24" bbl .44 Mag)
Timberwolf .44 Mag Pump.

Some brands of 44 MAG bullets do not open up much. Soft tip Remington core-lockt is an example. In contrast, Hornady XTP is a deep hollow tip with unique features. BIG HOLE through a deer with this bullet. Hornady has a custom line of factory ammo featuring this bullet.

XTP stands for eXtreme Terminal Performance.

Good hunting to you.

The only company I can remember that loaded special rounds for a rifle was Norma . That was many years ago.
