Ruger 3.5" Redhawk .44 magnum and NAA .22 short (sorry, not a magnum).

Each a hoot to shoot.

Will

How about a set of four,,,

44 and a Half,,,
That's way kewl my friend. ;)

Meet The Harem:

01-harem.jpg

Jezebel, Brighid, Morgana, and Lilith,,,
N-frame, L-frame, K-frame, J-frame,,,
44 Mag, 357 Mag, 38 Special, 22 LR.

I wish S&W had made something like the NAA mini in .22 Short. :D

That's neat! And you only have to buy one caliber of ammunition. Just buy .44s and cut them in half for the little gun. (.44/2=.22?)

Yeah, I know, bad joke.

But then here is my .44 and a half, plus a .45:

Hello psyfly,,,

You really need to put those two together in a nice presentation box.

They just seem to go together so perfectly. :)

Hello Stressfire & Microgunner,,,

Microgunner:

There are no X-frame S&W's,,,
They are as mythical as the Unicorn,,,
At least an X-frame that I could afford is mythical. :p

But seriously,,,
I've only seen a few X-frames,,,
The one used gun I saw (.460) was $1,250.00.

I was flush as far as disposable money right then,,,
But I passed on it because I knew I would never shoot the monster.

So unless one drops out of the sky into my lap,,,
The Harem will have to remain a 4 woman seraglio.

Stressfire:

Don't be a hater my friend,,,
If you ever happen to pass through Stillwater,,,
We'll go to the range and you can dance with all four of the ladies. :)

the idea was just to load up 2 .22 shorts in the Redhawk...

Side by side or back to back?

Aarond

P.S. Yanno what would really be cool,,,
Have a holster made for the Redhawk that also holds the Mini.

That would not be difficult to make at all,,,
And it would get some comments at the range.

.

I have a holster for the Redhawk.

Maybe I can build an addition.

Or maybe just load the NAA Mini into the Redhawk!

Actually, one thing I was thinking: since the relationship of diameter/mass is cubic, the expected weight of a .44 (given a 40gr .22) should be ~320gr .

I have an X-Frame Smith & Wesson. It is a 2 1/2" snub nose .500 magnum bear gun. After five to ten shots you are tired. It is exactly like this one and it looks like it should have come from the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."

Dang Iron Man!,,,

That looks like it would kill at both ends.

It would take something like the threat of a bear attack,,,
To make me pull the trigger on that snubbie.

Iron Man - 5 to 10 shots? I think I'd have to put Peltors on top of my Peltors, under a welding helmet. Even at that, I'd probably be pleased to say that I had fired one or two rounds of full-power out of a barrel that short. Is there any such thing as a light load for that brute? Like Cowboy Action Cannon?

Aarond - re the ammo, that looks like a very fair price. Glad you posted the site.

I just have to take you to task

You took a Hunter model Redhawk and chopped it?

I don't put optical sights on handguns often, but you just took $100 to $150 premium (the scallops on the top rib of the barrel) and threw it away.

I am heated over this because I just bought a Hunter model specifically because the scope can mount so that it clears the hammer, which is not how it is with the Super Redhawk.

Nice pair, though.

Oh, I feel so bad....

Well, not so much. The work was commissioned by a previous owner. I have a 7.5" Redhawk and I wanted a short-barrel .44mag.

Now I have one.

Work was done (and very well, including action) by John Gallagher Custom Guns: http://www.gallagherfirearms.com/default.asp?page=2

Don't know what to advise you about the heat...

Tell you what, I have a list of things I'd like to acquire that I'll happily trade you my 7.5" Redhawk for :).

Best,

Will
