.410 slugs

What are they good for? What range? 1800 fps I believe is what I read in a chart. Faster than a 20 or 12 gauge, but alot less energy. I have a Stevens .22-.410 so I was mainly wondering what you all thought about coyote hunting with 410 slugs.

I use them in my double as a last line of defense for charging wounded rouge hedgehogs!

410 slugs.

Good to 100 yards or less.

Muzzel energy = 41 mag. at muzzel.

410 guage is my favorite. I've taken more small game with this caliber [save waterfowl] than all others i've owned.

I used to use 410 slugs as a good home defense weapon [ 870 Remington] 8 slugs. [Still would if i owned a 410 guage gun.] Reasons? = Close range would be deadly, good knock down energy, explosive expansion on soft targets, over - penatration not an issue. Very low recoil, fast follow up shots if need be. Noise levels acceptable in confined areas.
