.410 Saga continues

Well, The Wife has decided that my single shot rifle fund will now be known as the .410 shotgun fund. Myself, I would love to add a Stevens 311 .410 to my collection, but the fund only has $275 in it, so the 311 isn't going to happen. The Wife wants a pump anyway. Any suggestions? New is okay, but I always seem to get more money worth buying used.
 
John, there's a 410 870 Express, but I've not seen any.

That little Mossberg 410 shouldn't be too expensive.

Old Model 42 Winchesters would be out of your budget range, too bad. Same for the newer Brownings, same model number.

I saw the Mossberg at Wally World a couple of weeks ago for $185 or $195. Something like that, anyhow. I thought about getting one, but some recent threads really have me dreamining about a 28 ga.

Since it was brought up,let's think about a 28 gauge instead the 410.

About same weight and cost of ammo, and much more effective.

I'm done limited 28 gauge shooting, but I've observed some very fine shooting in the hands of a good shotgunner. 3/4 oz works well up to 30 yards when suitably choked.

OTOH, I've seen little to admire in the 410, tho I freely admit I've hardly ever shot one. They work well for landfill rats.

I suggested the 28, which got the reply of "Why won't you let me get what I want?" I've been married 8 years now and still haven't won an arguement, so I see no reason to start trying now. And now she's decided she wants a Saiga .410 because it remindeds her of my SKS that she has confinscated:mad: OH well, I guess I could have worse problems, she asked me today when I was going to get around to buying more components to reload some .38 ammo, and while I was at it she needed another case of ammo for HER:confused: SKS. At least I got her shooting.
 
OKC, after 25 years of connubial bliss,still haven't won an argument.Sounds like there's a 410 on the way to your house.

As for more ammo for HER SKS, get it.
 
You guys just have to stand up to your woman.

Tell her how it is.

If she doesn't like it, tough.
