I'm wanting to do some 410 reloading I bought a lanes reloading kit and used it worked ok. I couldn't get the brass to seat all the way in the crimper I order a resizer they sell but Ithe didn't do the job. Ive heard you can use 45 acp to resize 410 just wanted to see what yall thought. I have a single stage press and can't afford to buy a mec right now. I'm planning on reloading plastic and brass shells. Thanks in advance for the help.

It depends. 2½" shells have a maximum brass diameter of 0.477" and the .45 Auto case maximum is 0.476", so it should be a close enough fit fine on diameter. However, some 45 Auto sizing dies will be too short inside to allow you to fit the whole shotshell in. One option would be to purchase one of the Lee Carbide Factory Crimp Dies in 45 Auto and unscrew and remove the crimp adjustment plug and ring from the top. It's shape from its carbide sizing ring is then a straight through hole, and it will let your shell height pass.

The 3" shells are another matter. SAAMI has their brass at 0.4811", so they are wider, reflecting the growth in the shell's slight taper in the chamber when you stretch it further back. 3" shells would be over-resized by the 45 Auto die.
