Maybe I am old fashioned, but I stick with Hydro-Shoks for defense ammo. It seems like their bullet design is round like a FMJ despite the crater in the tip. They feed like a dream in all my stuff.

Mine is a modified 155 gr Montana Gold HP loaded to 1220 fps.

I haven't purchased a factory centerfire round in over 18 years.

my favorite is the 155gr Silvertip.

Ofcource my REAL favorite .40 caliber load is the 180gr Cor-bon JHP loaded to about 1320fps...but thats in the long .40 cal. :D

My choices were limited...

to Rem 180 Gold Sabre; Speer Gold Dot 135; or Win SXT 165.

The best of the three for me and my H&K USP40 is the Winchester. It grouped the best of the three.
The Gold Dot had more recoil and blast, making follow up shots difficult. (In a steel frame gun it might be different. Or perhaps with a stronger recoil spring.)
The Remington felt "light".
Subjective, but I had to choose.

Now that I think of it, I should try the Federal stuff. It works real well in my other calibers.

I actually like plain old Federal Classic HighShocks...155 gr JHP
Lotsa good ammo out there...I just wish the 40's pricing would come down...people can almost buy 357 Sig for cheaper...sshheesshh..whats the world coming to ...Shoot well
