.400Corbon?

Ive only shot it a wee bit.....bout 600 rds....Picked up a barrel in trade and put in in a colt 1991a1......worked like a champ no problems, accurate, and provides a bit more recoil than the stock 45acp.......Ive never cronographed to get the actual figures...but it does "feel" good....fubsy....

Occasionally install my .400 Clark barrel in my 1911. This cartridge is EXTREMELY accurate (really really stiff barrel?), and I made up some loads and I lost the cases INDOORS! Hot.

Recommend minimum 18.5lb (heavier is probably better; 20-22lb) recoil spring.

Really like the cartridge, but best for hobby (or defense with 135-155g JHP's).

"All my ammo is factory ammo"

Yep, I do. Converted a KIMBER, a S&W m745, and a RUGER P90. All three work fine but the P90 was a snooty one to get up and running. Have shot up tens of thousands of rounds of 400 CORBON ammo, every second I could grab, scam, or steal at the plant.
The 745 has a drop-in BAR-STO bbl, the KIMBER has an ED BROWN fit by Ed, and the P90 has a LASERAIM bbl. All three shoot very well. Two clicks on the KIMBER'S rear sight and I was hitting pop cans on the 100 yard backstop fast as I could put the front sight on them. In five years we have never caught up with ammunition demand. It's done very well in the market place.TM

Terry - Really, that's not very fair of you! Some people have all the fun: they and their boss get to design the .400 Cor*Bon cartridge, manufacture quadzillions of cartridges in that caliber, have master barrel makers come up with the appropriate barrels for it - even for the rare S&W models!- and then are paid to do all of the shooting! Seriously, since I think that the .400 Cor*Bon round has more "stomp" to it than the smaller .357 Sig cartridge, what would it take beside a high level promotional adverising campaign to get the big American pistol making companies to manufacture production line pistols for it?

Now as for the .400 Cor*Bon's use in the Ruger P90 - I have found feeding this round to be a booger when using the original P90 seven round magazine. Does the newer P97 eight round magazine work better when using the .400 Cor*Bon in the P90? I think that it is a problem centered in the particular design of the P90's magazine's follower that causes the so-so feeding problem of this cartridge. DSC.

Seems to me that .400Corbon would also do more damage than .45ACP.
I also think it would be an awesome carbine round.
No one else uses this round?

I shoot .400 Cor-Bon, almost exclusively, through my G21. Have three .400 barrels for it, all by Accu-Match...two compensated, one standard. Also shoot .400 Cor-Bon through my G30.

The compensated Accu-Match barrel really tames the .400's recoil. I'd say that the perceived recoil is less than 9mm+p. Accuracy is as Terry says.

I had one of my .400 barrels reamed to .40 Super. Lots of fun, also. Kind of like .400's big brother. Can't find dies for .40 Super, so I'm having to use .400 Cor-Bon dies for .40 Super reloading.

I've not shot tens of thousands of rounds of .400 Cor-Bon, but I'm probably right behind Terry in numbers of .400's shot.
