400 CorBon

Anyone out there convert their 1911A1 45ACP to 400 CorBon? Have been reading as much as I can find on this conversion and it seems interesting. I have been looking for used 10mm or a new Witness 10mm, but this 400 CorBon seems like a worthy alternative.

Haven't had .400 in a 1911 but I did buy a .400 tube for a P220. The price and local availability of ammo sucked. It was interesting to shoot but nothing spectacular. Just my .02

If your interested in that type of cartridge there are a few others you may want to look at. There is the .38 Casull and the 40 Super. Like the .400 they are bottleneck cartridges.

As far as I know the .38 Casull is only available as a complete gun (1911 type) from Casull. I believe that a factory gun in .40 Super is being made by STI. Like the .400, 40 Super conversions/barrels are available from numerous sources.

FWIW.
