.40 S&W Questions

A couple questions about the .40 cartridge, if I may.

-Are there any guns out there for which you can find reasonably priced >10 capacity magazines? (note: $80 is not reasonably priced). I mean, most .40 guns don't have the capacity of 9mm ones anyway (the Beretta 96's standard magazine holds only 11 rounds, compared to 15 for the 9mm version).

-On the Beretta 96, as I understand it, you can just change the barrel/slide to convert a 92 9x19mm to a .40 cal. Is this correct? Do they use the same magazine, then?

-On the Sig P226, do the 9mm and .40 cal versions use the same magazines? I wouldn't think so, but I've heard of conversion barrels and such. If so, how many rounds of .40 could you fit into a Sig P226 15 round magazine?

Thanks in advance!

I've heard that you can convert certain .40's to 9mm by swapping out the barrel, springs, and mags, but not the other way around. I am pretty sure you can NOT convert a 92 to a 96.

I have not found any other than the eaa witness that lets you convert by buying a new slide and barrel. You can convert to 357sig with a new barrel.
As for hi caps, you loose about 3 rounds from 9mm to 40 using a 9mm clip. The beretta/taurus clips from the 92 work in the pt100, and you can only get 12 in, and that is pushing it.
