Please help me decide which factory night sights are better on the 30. This will be my CCW gun and I carry IWB so I don't need sharp edges. Thanks.

I like the Trijicons better. Just personal preference.

Another option is to get the standard plastic factory sights and order a set of Ashley Express tritiums. I just put a set of the Ashley PRO express sights on my G31C and I love them. The front is a tritium dot with a white outline. The rear is a non outlined vertical bar. Very fast sight picture with these sights.

Just my opinion...
I would save the money and not get any of the factory night sights. Then use that money to get what I consider the best sights...the Heinie Slant Pros. Also called Straight Eights if you get the tritium inserts. Outstanding sight picture - clean and fast. Plus I think that dot on dot configuration is faster to align than 3 dot (actually, I just use a front tritium insert only).
Check them out at www.heinie.com

TRIJICONS! I had Meprolights for awhile, but I didn't like them as well as the Trijicons, which seem to be the industry standard. I think the Trijis are more indestructible.

I'll add another vote for the Trijicons. I put them on my G27 and have been very satisfied. It's a great comfort when I'm in a strange motel room and I look at the nightstand in the dark and see my G27 looking back brightly at me.

I am dissappointed in my Trijicons though. I wish they had a white dot of some kind on them also. At the range if I'm shooting at a black background target, I have trouble seeing the sights. If they were brighter or had white dots it would help. IMHO

Until the antis put a sign in their front yard that says they don't own guns, they are riding on the shirt-tail of the safety that we provide by owning them.

I have trijicons on 2 Sigs and they are good, but I have Mepros on a P7 and I like them just as much, if not a little better. The Meps seem to have slightly larger white rings and as far as toughness, meps are Isreali military standard issue and the P7 has some of the quickest slide velocity of any handgun made, and mine are holding up fine after 5 years.

Heinie and Ashley are innovative and well crafted products but I can't personally consider them because I train myself on 3-dots and I've been told it's best to stay with the system you're used to and train with.

I have Trijicon night sights on one of my G19s and they work very well. I also have the Ashley Express regular sights on my new G32 and they seem okay. That big front sight is hard to miss, but it's almost TOO big.

If you can, I suggest borrowing someone's firearm that has the sights on them and try it before you spend the moeny.

Ditto what shamster said. Heinie straight 8's are the way to go. Dot on top of dot. I have had them on top of my G30 for over a year now -- no problems. Save your money and get the gun with standard sights. Send the slide to Heinie, and they install them the same or next day. Sling Shot

Trijicons seem to be a little brighter, but Mepros, have a longer warranty. I wouldn't be afraid to use either.... Try them both if you can. Both look pretty much the same on a Glock..... So to me....buy the one you like.

No matter which brand you get, make sure it has the white ring around the dot. It makes it a LOT easier to find the dot in GOOD light. ;)

I've got Trijicons on my four Glocks and I like them a lot. Very bright and durable.

Trijcons and Meprolights are great. The Mepro slightly cheaper.PT's are cool with the different color options but they make crappy daysights.I perfer Mepros.. SHOKz

I go with the Meprolights also. They came factory installed on my Glock 19. Like someone mentioned, they look comforting at night in a motel room! Old snake eyes yet!!
<VBG> I do appreciate the white dots for daylight use.
Stay safe.
