4" GP 100 value

What do estimate as the value of a 4" stainless GP 100? I would call its condition very good to excellent. It's had no work, e.g., trigger job or anything. I might approach a guy about it.

I paid 450.00 for a GP100 4 inch stainless a year ago (very lightly used).
I believe the best answer to your question is that any item is 'worth' exactly what another person is willing to pay for it. Best of luck with your GP100.

Yeah, it's true that the market decides value. I wanted to get an idea of what is a reasonable starting point. I bought my 6" blued half-shroud 7 years ago for $375 as a consignment. It had a great trigger job and I'm pretty sure the cylinder was reamed as well. The book value is still what I paid.

It varies. They can be had for cheap but they sell in the $450-$500 range fairly often. If you can hold out, someitmes they can be had cheaper. I paid $325 2-3 years ago for a 4" stainless, great shape with the wood insert grip style (pre-Hogue) with a holster. However, this is obviously not the norm.

I think $450-$500 is a fair going rate right now, in the Phoenix area (private sales).

...So, what'll it do? (just a tad off topic)

I'v got to ask, and I think you guys know the answer: Will all revolvers chambered for the .327 safely shoot a .32? Yes, it IS an elderly person question.

Well, it's moot. He's attached to it. I understand; I would have a hard time giving up mine as well.

I see it's your first post here, so welcome. Typically, it's better to start your own thread for a question that's so very much unrelated.

But here's your answer: a .327 Federal Mag will safely shoot:
.32 H&R Magnum
.32 Smith & Wesson Long
.32 Smith & Wesson
...will also SAFELY shoot a .32 Auto, but will not reliably shoot them or reliably eject them all the time. As the .32 Auto is a semi-rimmed case, you may not get them to eject easily and you don't always have the reach to reliably ignite them. But if they do discharge, it's not a safety issue.

People use these other calibers as a "selling point" for the .327 Federal...but none of that ammo is cheap, really, and just often -- it's unavailable.

For those who don't want the outrageous blast however, any of them are a lot easier and more peaceful to shoot than .327 Federal Magnum.

i have the 6 inch stainless in 357.i paid 400 for it new a few years back. i wouldnt sell that gun for anything.

+1 ... one of my very favorite handguns.
