Hi all,
Heading out to Pahrump, NV for the Front Sight 4-day defensive handgun course.

They say they run from 8am to 6pm, or later.

Anyone been? Does it really last that long?

OK if it does... just want to be sure I being enough snacks and food.

Later,

I've been there. The first two days, there are supplemental lectures after the class (around 6 pm). These are optional, though I recommend them. The third day you stay later for the night shoot. The last day, there's a "graduation ceremony," where they call up students to receive their certificates of completion.

They also had a friendly competition, testing speed and accuracy. The best student at each class then went against students from the other classes.

Just make sure you are there on time--8 am means at your assigned range ready for class to start at 8 am, not pulling into the parking lot at 8 am.

Oh yeah, you'll be there that long, or longer. On night-shoot day, you won't start shooting again until full dark, so plan accordingly.

Any supplementary lectures or coached practice opportunities shouldn't be passed up.

My standard Front Sight routine (I have a membership) is to roll into Pahrump the afternoon/evening before the class starts, check in at the Best Western, unload the car, hit Wal-Mart to pick up my pre-ordered ammo, then hit Albertson's to load up on bottled water, Gatorade, and gun-school food.

Probably will bring ammo from home now that the supplies are so iffy.

When I went, the day of the night shoot had a daytime session as well; the night shoot was approximately two hours after the end of the day session.
