3gun rifle barrel choice

I hate burning the throats out of my stainless match barrels in high round count events.
I am thinking about having a bunch of better quality barrels made with a good chamber and 8 twist and having them chromelined.
Most around here seem to like 16" but what do you guys think about length and having a better quality blank chromelined?

17" medium contor with a rifle lenght gas system. According to me smith the 17" is the shortest you can go with a rifle lenght gass system and still be reliable. Then have an 8 twist and a wyld chamber. This I think would be the hot setup.

Been running this 17" for almost 3 years.

Man I've been wanting one of those UBR stocks since I saw it at shot show 3 years ago. To this dat I have not been able to buy one from them. Looks like they are not going to produce them for general sale. I guess I'll see what they say tommrow at shot.
