Local store has a special on 3D reloads, $8.00 per 50 for .45 acp. Anyone shot this ammo ? I know 3D has red box, blue box ect., but I haven't found out which one the store is advertising. I assume it is the cheapest.

I'm new here. I registered because I saw your question. I've used 3D reloaded ammo in the red box for .40 and .45; I think that is the cheapest. I'd stay away from it. It's extremely dirty, underpowered, and inaccurate. It puffs up some really nice smoke that I'm sure isn't too good for you and you'll have a real fun time cleaning your gun afterwards. Go with the CCI Blazer ammo if you want inexpensive stuff. HTH

3D ammo is the only stuff I've found so far that can jam my CZ 75! I bought one box of the 115gr LRN and swore I'd never buy another after 2 ftf from 50rnds and enough smoke to remind me of that Pink Floyd concert back in the '70s. CCI/Blaser is inexpensive and/or look for deals on the web or visit a gunshow for bulk deals. The next step would be reloading :D

We used the red box re-manufactured .38 special 125 grain hollow points for practice ammo years ago. It was loaded with Hornady XTP bullets. It shot well and was no dirtier than any other ammo we tried. We only switched because we found a local re-manufacturer who could suply our needs a little cheaper.

I have used the 3-D 100gr Wadcutters in my
PPC Gun. It was EXTREMELY accurate out to 25 yards if its not too windy. this stuff was made to shoot indoors and recoil was not
a factor with my heavy barrel revolver.
Shoots tiny little groups when shooting fast.

bobo: With the 100gr WC load, recoil isn't a factor even in a small frame snubby. ;) To me, the load is significantly more fun than a .22 LR. I hate the high-pitched "thwap" report of the rimfire, and .358" holes in the target are far more satifisying.

Muscles, I recently tried some in .45 and had no problems. I have found the S&B and PMC 230 Grain FMJ for either $8 or $10 (forget which) and use that if possible. The S&B seems especially good and I cheerfully carry it on occassion.

3D in .38 is well regarded by the PPC guys here.

I have used it a few times in 9mm and I had no problems at all with it.

Suggest starting at the bottom of the price chain and moving UP in price until you reach your desired performance level.

If 3D meets YOUR needs, great!
