I bought some 185 Grain JHP 45ACP a while ago from 3D Ammo. I know that ball ammo feeds best in 1911's and clones but I wanted to try it and they sell the 10-round blue cards. Well I noticed from the start that they didn't slip into the chamber like ball ammo does, but they did feed reliably. However, today I was showing my 45 off and when I went to rechamber it, the bullet got pushed inside of the case a good ¼". Now, these are not the reloads that 3D makes, it was their new line of ammunition. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Just like to make one point; chamber pressure can exceed 100,000 PSI with shortened 45ACP loads. Your gun WILL be destroyed.

Cheap ammo is CHEAP.

"All my ammo is factory ammo"

Oh, I knew that. I am not going to shoot the round that collapsed. I am going to send it to them and ask what happened.

At one time, I was a firearms instructor, and the private agency I worked for used 3d factory reloads for t&q in the .38 revolvers we carried. We had very good results with them, in fact, better results than we got with some factory new ammo. That gave me a generally high opinion of them. I haven't had any experience with them in semi-auto's though.

Recently, I tried some MagTech .40 S&W FMJ in my Beretta 9000S and my Glock 23, and found it to be extremely reliable so far (only a moderate amount of rounds so far), and most interestingly, it is very clean ammo. The guns looked like they had hardly been fired after having about a hundred rounds put through them. When I bought the first box of this ammo, I didn't realize it was made in Brazil. I don't have anything against Brazil, but am leery of foreign ammunition, and probably would not have bought it if I had realized it was made outside the U.S. Lucky mistake, I really like the stuff so far. If you are getting bad results with the 3-d, why don't you give a box or two of MagTech a try and let us know what you think. I don't think it costs much more than the 3-d.

Also, I have gone through a few boxes of the WinClean in .40 and have had no malfunctions with it either, despite the horror stories I've heard and read from people who claim to have had all kinds of failures to feed, misfires, etc. with it.

Just my 2c worth.

I had a bullet setback and jam (gasp) in my Glock 22 using 3D reloads with swaged lead bullets. That was the first and only malfunction I ever had with a Glock and "bought" ammo. I'll never, ever buy 3D again. Too many good alternatives here in my neck of the woods.
