I bought a bit of 3D's new ammo (ass opposed to their reloads) from Cheaper Than Dirt. I have been carrying it for a few eeks but I hadn't tested how it cycled. They were 180 Grain Jacketed Hollow Points. I only fed one magazine through (eight rounds) and I only had one round not chamber properly. I am actually surprised as I have heard that 1911 style pistols were designed to feed ball ammo and that hollowpoints almost always jam. Has anyone else had experience with this ammo in this or other calibers?

I use it quite a bit for practice ammo. I`ve found that it`s loaded a little light and it`s pretty dirty but it`s been reliable. As a friendly tip I recomend that you don`t carry it until you`ve fired a fair amount of it through your gun though. :) A friend once gave me a box of .45ACP JHP to use for carry ammo(I`d just bought my first .45 and hadn`t had $ for carry ammo just a box of cheap FMJ reloads). I carried that ammo in my gun for a few weeks before I got the chance to shoot any. The whole box were duds! :( Never again. Marcus
