I've valiantly tried to wear out a pre-TSW 3913. I'll continue to try, but don't hold your breath waiting ...
A partner has an early model 3913 TSW, and he's been very, very satisfied with it. It was difficult to get him to retire his ultra reliable & highly customized Colt Officers, but the S&W did it.
I plan on getting a TSW version of the model, even though I already own the other 3913. Some of the improvements made a great little pistol just that much better. You can't see most of the improvements in the machining unless you're an armorer and can detail strip the weapon to compare it to the earlier pistols, like mine.
The newest of the TSW series, identified by the light rail on the dust cover, are great pistols, second to none. The latest 3913 TSW's use the regular 8-round magazine, while the previous TSW's have a 7-round magazine, and a shallow relief cut at the bottom of the grip. Also, the newest models have had the machining necessary in the safety/decock assembly area of the slide to allow replacement of the safety/decock lever with the optional spring-loaded decock-only assembly. It does require the factory, authorized S&W service center, certified gunsmith or a factory certified L/E armorer to check for proper fit & function of the new part, especially related to the operation of the sear release lever ... but it's only the work of a few minutes.
