About six weeks prior to the war in Iraq, FNC ran a short story in the middle of the day about WMD's. One of the things that they showed was a sattellite image of a convoy of over a dozen identical big rigs rolling in the sand towards the Bekaa Valley.

Remember during the build up to the war AND the war itself, where there were all sorts of 'retired military' coming on and explaining things.

In this report, an ex-Spec Op guy was on, explaining that these trucks, AT THE VERY LEAST had major weapons systems in them, perhaps 'even WMD'S'. He also said something like, "But don't worry, our (Spec Op) guys on the ground will follow them to their hiding hole.

THAT STORY RAN EXACTLY ONCE AND I NEVER SAW IT AGAIN. ANYWHERE. NOT FNC, NOT ANYWHERE.

SO, WMD's in Bekaa Valley, being watched by Spec OP AND overhead Keyhole sattellite?

Makes sense that IF there were WMD's that were removed from IRAQ, would we want to TIP OUR HAND that said WE KNEW where they went? And IF we take on SYRIA next (controls Lebanon), IS THAT when we roll up WMD's?

How about the REST of Sadaams family and the REST OF THEIR MONEY? It's currently ALL IN SYRIA.

I don't know. I just know that the MIDDLE EASTERN ARABS are eventually going to attack us again, on our soil. PROBABLY SOMETHING BIG. And when (not if) that happens, the middle east will glow in the dark for about 135 years.

It's truly a bitch to wake 'THE SLEEPING GIANT' that is the USA.

And I have a QUESTION FOR EVEYRONE. IF we ARE the GREAT SATAN, as ISLAMICS PROFESS WE ARE, how stupid are they, messing with SATAN? Won't SATAN just mess them up?

The 380 tons of ammo story is a scam by the Kerry people in that it is NOT new news. It became known in April 2003 and we were not guarding it at the time. The UN knew of it as a WMD depot. Why didn't they know what happened to it ????? Yes it's probably in Syria with lots of other stuff. :mad:
 
I doubt if it got to Syria. It's probably in the hands of insurgents. :(

I would have hauled it out to the desert and had the mother of all fireworks shows. Too late now. :mad:
 
I just wondered how large is a TON of high explosives? Suppose it covered 4'x4'x4' or what have you. How many heavy trucks, railway cars, etc. worth are we talking about? :confused:

Hard to say.
RDX (the base component of many explosives) has a density of 1.82 g/cm³.

If we assumed pure RDX (keeping in mind that plasticisers will bring the density down considerably) then ... hmm ... 1.82 grams per cubic centimeter converted to pounds per cubic foot ... something like 113.62 pounds per cubic foot? Someone check my math.

Anyway, that gives us about 17.6 cubic feet per ton, or roughly 6,688 cubic feet of explosives missing. That's a whole lotta bangstuff to move (and ignores packaging, the weight and size of whatever munition casings it might have been present in and so forth).
 
That's how "successful" the UN is! And the life form, running for presidency, will give up our souvereignity to this "successfuls"!

I think this is a big attempt by the IAEA to cover up losing it
 
Even though the story is old, one of the big networks was going to hold onto it, until October 31, hoping to make a big impact just before election day. The other biggies couldn't wait, and so ruined the surprise. Just like a lot of the other "news", there's no investigation. I also don't understand the spin that Kerry is putting on it. President Bush knows everything that's going on, at a tactical level, in Iraq? Kerry didn't know, but he would have! And if he did know, he would have done exactly the opposite of what Bush did, or didn't do. Which?
Headlines, 1944 - In another blow to the Roosevelt campaign, the Allies failed to capture Caen, and it's been a week since D-Day! So far, no connection between Nazi Germany and the attack on Pearl Harbor has been found . . . can you imagine?
It reminds me of various gun stories run in the news, where the reporter checks the NRA's facts by consulting the websites of gun control organizations.
 
At least we know where they are getting all the C-4 for the car bombs and IED's. Won't do any good to seal the borders when they already have enough ordinance in hand to start WWIII.

THIS IS RAW EXPLOSIVES. LOT'S OF IT. I just HOPE that Fox News Channel CAN find that little 'blip' they ran over a year ago.

SURE WOULD COOK Kerry's goose, as it were.
 
This much explosive has the potential to level a few city blocks. For this reason, I would classify these explosives as weapons of mass destruction.

So... Now the democRATS are saying that there *were* WMD in Iraq???

According to a recent article in the Washington Times, the Pentagon says so far they have found over 10,000 caches of munitions. They have destroyed 240,000 tons of this stuff, with another 160,000 tons awaiting destruction.

Saddam was estimated to have about 600,000 to 1,000,000 tons of munitions before the latest war. Iraq is one giant ammo dump.

If we missed 380 tons of explosives, it is no surprise to me. But, you can bet that Kerry and the Dems will not mention the amazing numbers I cited in the first paragraph.

CBS reported this same story in about May...of 2003. This is neither news or simple reporting.

Both 3ID and 101 went through this dump on the way to Baghdad and nieither seemed to have noticed UN inspection tags. IIRC, this is the place where the suspicious white powder was discovered.
 
BluesMan, just one pound of this stuff was used to bring down Pan Am 103. One pound of it can do a lot.

I cannot believe the spin that Kerry's people are putting on: we went to war for the wrong reasons. There were no WMD's. And why didn't the Bush administration seize those dangerous WMD's before moving on Baghdad?

The mainstream press is doing its damndest to make Bush look bad. Here are banned munitions that Saddam had. Tons and tons of them.

I find it incredibly interesting that there was a discussion between the NY Times, LA Times, and 60 Minutes about which media outlet would air the story first.

Bias? Naaawwww.
 
I would not classify this as WMD. Even though it could make several thousand good size bombs.

However, the 2 Sarin gas rounds that were popped off on our guys CERTAINLY were WMD. I never see that discussed much at all!

I just heard Bret Bear (I think it was him) report that the military are currently reviewing satellite surveillance photo's for the run up to the war for that given munitions dump.

THAT'S WHAT I SAW! A line of trucks COMING out of some form of compound. I didn't realize it.

What a bummer to have military release surveillance photo's of a LONG LINE of trucks leaving THAT ammo dump about two weeks BEFORE we ever entered that country.

I JUST HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS, Don' YOU?

I've just traded TWO emails with one of my buddies in IRAQ. Sometimes I just get depressed over the stuff he tells me. It's not like it's all bad or anything, it's just depressing. Heat, bad food, smells you wouldn't believe, LONG DAYS, LONGER NIGHTS, did I mention the heat? At least he still is having fun BLOWING UP stuff. One of his MOS' is EOD. So, he gets to make things go boom daily. But, even he admits after a while, it's just a job.

Kind of like being a cash teller in a large banks vault. Money becomes nothing MORE than dirty paper, IF you handle it long enough.

Another excellent example of CBS doing ANYTHING to keep Bush from being re elected. Colluding with the NY Times and the UN to fabricate stories of this nature should be criminal.

BTW...the UN remains on our soil, WHY?
 
The two most disturbing parts of this whole "story" are:
1) The attempt by an arm of the UN to affect the election in a sovereign nation thru subterfuge and lies.
2) Kerry's unwillingness to apologize or even back off from his seizure of this story for political gain.

(Note I used the word "disturbing", not "surprising".)

We've come a long way from the days when certain types of attacks were off limits. Today, anything goes on the assumption of a sound-byte controllable electorate. This election will certainly prove whether the would-be puppet masters are correct in that assumption.

With outlets like the NYT and CBS flatly refusing to report the facts in the aftermath of the fallacy, the answer is anybody's guess.
