One evening I was out for a stroll and I was struck by how big and bright the full moon looked. On a whim I drew my 380 and fired a single round at it.

Had a good sight picture, and it was a fairly big target, pretty sure I hit it.

Okay?

For one thing the distance from the Earth to the moon is 238,900 miles. For another thing,

I sincerely hope you are joking.

wow...

Since when does a 380 have a muzzle velocity of 24,000 mph? That's what it would need to escape the Earth's gravity.

I sincerely hope the OP is joking, for the sake of the rest of us.

GUNS IN SPACE!!!

Been a while since the topic came up. (I was getting worried. I also worry if we go too long without 'guns for bears' or 'guns for snakes'...I think the pressure builds up if we go too long and the resulting discussions get a mite testy.)

Well, it is his 666th post:p

Anyway, you probably hit it, but a .380 doesn't have the knock down power to drop a small planet instantly with one shot. Keep an eye on the sky, I'm sure it will start to fade and in a few weeks it will die away............only to slowly heal itself.
