38 super data in 9mm

Why? 9mm data is easier to find and has a wider variety of bullets and powders. There might be some overlap in the loads but there is no direct correlation.

As far as reloading goes I really like to play by the rules, that is, I use the recipes in the manuals and don't 'experiment' on my own.

Ignoring the reloading recommendations can get you a nickname of "Lefty". :D

I ask because I got a ton of 140 grain TC lead bullets. I know that's a common weight for 38 super and not 9. The is not much out there for a 140 lead in 9

You absolutely can use that data BUT it has consequences. There will be
excess pressure and it will be only a matter of time and something will break along with possible injury or death.

If you want more power get a firearm that is suitable.

I agree with using 147 data. There will not be extra pressure unless you seat them extra deep in the brass. There will be less pressure in all likelihood.

I was thinking the same. A bullet 7 grains lighter than the data for 147 gr. bullets won't raise pressure unless there is something about these bullets we don't know...

I use 147 grain data for 135 grain lead loads. Worst case scenario is that the starting load doesn't cycle the gun. Usually it will.
