Whatever it is it was probably made in 1987. That's all anyone can say with that little info.

What more info do you need about the revolver. I have it right here.

Open the cylinder and read the number stamped on the revealed part of the frame, just in front of the open cylinder. That is where the model number is stamped. It will be a 2 digit number with a dash and a number following like this:

10-5 or m10-5 That means model 10, 5th change

Serial number is on the butt (bottom of the grip frame).

Model # 15.5. Also there another long number above that number could that be the serial number.

Well, it sounds like a Smith & Wesson M-15. They are among the most sought after guns out there. It should have a 4" barrel and adjustable sights IIRC. It was the Combat Masterpiece version I think.
