.38 Revolver Can't Get Any Better?

14-2 Three T

I can't think of a way to improve on this timeless design.
(OK, remove the Tyler T for you hardcore purists!) :)

Smooth action, natural in the hand, inexpensive, and shoots like a little rifle.

Model 14's came in 6" and 8 3/8" barrels with partridge front sights. You can still get a Model 14 Classic with a 6" barrel.

Well, you've got me baffled. What would be the difference between a 4" Model 14 and a Model 15?

I'm not so much on this new Model numbering system, I knew them as the K-38 Masterpiece (6") and the K-38 Combat Masterpiece (4"), then came the Combat Magnum (Model 19) and Distinguished Combat Magnum (Model 586).

Could your gun have been rebarreled?

Bob Wright

P.S. Whatever it is, you've got a great old revolver!

I've got a NIB 4" blue 19-4 with the three T's and I just realized I don't have a pic. :( My camera went South too and I'll I've got is a cell phone too.

Its a fairly rare pistol since its got the combination of the 4" barrel and Three T's, thats Target hammer, Target trigger and Target Stocks by the way, for those of you unfamiliar with the expression Three T's.

Even so, without consulting my S&W history book, I'm going to guess that your 4" 14-2, with the Three T's is rarer still. It is also in very nice condition, as I'm sure you know. :)

Like I said, I don't have a pic of that Triple T 19-4, but here is a pic of my shipped in 1950, S&W .38 Special Combat Masterpiece, as a consolation prize.

Nice looking .38! Bet it shoots as good as it looks.

One nitpick, the Three Ts are Target Trigger, Target Hammer and Target Stocks. Not sights.

Thanks very much for catching that for me. Here is a pic of my shipped in 1965, 4" Model 19-2 as compensation.:)

Hard to beat the old smiths M-15's both of these are -3 2 inch nickle and standard 4 inch in need of a pair of proper wood grips.

I have had this 1950 vintage K38 Masterpiece for over thirty years now. It is hands down, one of the most accurate guns I own. Think one hole six shot groups at 15 yards.

I got it to go with this K22 Masterpiece that was made a couple years earlier.
