.38 Officer's Model Match

Anyone know of any 'smiths who can get my old racehorse back into running form??
It's a great gun, still at least as (okay, alot more) :o accurate as (than) I am.... I'm an automatic guy, and my knowledge of revolvers isn't all that extraordinary, but, the old gun could definitely use a new set of grips, a good look at it's timing and maybe some lightening up of it's DA trigger.... Beyond that, though, it's really a hoot to shoot, and I'd rather sink some $$ into it than up & buy a new target gun. Thanks in advance!

There are only three places I will recommend for Colt revolver work.

The Colt factory.
Usually they're the fastest and cheapest. They do top quality work, and NOBODY knows more about Colt revolvers than they do.

Cylinder & Slide Shop in Nebraska.
Expensive and slow. They're expensive because they're a top custom shop. They do top quality work, and are the people to see if you want custom modifications to a Colt DA revolver.

Pittsburgh Handgun Headquarters
1330 Center Ave.
Pittsburgh, PA 15229
(412) 766-6100
Pittsburgh used to be Colt's overflow facility for warranty repairs. They have a large stock of Colt parts, and do top quality work.
They're fast, and good. For standard, non-custom work, they're about as good as Colt.

For grips, you're better off finding them on your own.
Sources on grips depend on whether you want original factory target grips, or a good aftermarket model.

I would abide by the advise above. Don't send your Colt just anywhere, send it to someone that knows Colt revolvers.

Thankyou!

Thanks alot, guys, I'm definitely going to look into those suggestions. :)
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,
Spo
