.36 cal. Rem. '58 bummer

I decided to get it and I priced the "sheriff's" model at
Cabelas at $200 yesterday.

I called today to make sure they still had it so I could drive down tonight to buy it and was told it's now $220 (+$20 in gas to get there). Apparently, Cabela central increased the price.

No .36 Remmy for me. :(

Now, I start looking for a used one, which I know are rare. Or find another interesting c&b to distract me from my grief.

All of Cabela's stuff went up. Glad I got my 60 Colt when I did. Not long ago they had the 58 Remington on sale for 165.00 but not no mo.

I fired my .36 Remington today. Great gun. I bought it from Lee on the Voy forum. He threw in 2 extra cylinders (I use the blued one). He's still selling off his collection - I'm not sure what he has left.

Decisions

Midway's got a .36 Rem. Navy Uberti on sale.

And a neighbor popped up with a .44 Rem '58 Uberti for sale.

I have a .44 '58 Rem. by Pietta that i think is a fantastic rev--but folks say the Uberti is a better replica. I might buy it to compare.

And put off my search for a solid .36 for another day.

Pohill wanna trade fur sumfin? That's a beauty and a great deal too I bet.

If the price is right go for it. I love the Uberti I got in trade with Pohill some years ago. The 1858 Uberti is named as I think so highly of her, refered to as Sophia A. Uberti. Should have one a each.
I was searching today for an 1858 Navy/Army police .36 for you on Gunbroker. com and Auction Arms .com... no luck today , but I got one there undfired no box...an older but new Euroarms .36 Rem NMA(under $200 buy it now). Get the Uberti NMA then search the Auctions for the deal....

And go broke like I did...LoL!

Will do, SG...

Including the part about going broke.:D

BTW, gunbroker prices seem to be out of touch with reality.

Some do go way high , just watch and wait...an 1851 Navy Brass frame Hawes, L.A., CA Euroarms goin as is low bids Auction arms. No Rems in .36 yet there.

Got the Uberti '58

It's a Cimarron. 1998, but seldom shot. I got a holster and a couple boxes of bullets with it.

The wood grips are beautiful and the bluing seems a bit deeper than my Pietta. The Pietta has a little more knuckle room behind the trigger guard.

Uberti is the one on top:

Smokin, thanks for checking the auctions. I'll be raising a few bucks here soon.

Cimarron does their own finish work which is why the bluing is better. Looks like you made a good deal.

Congrads Oquirrh good job you got the Uberti. The Uberti blueing is much richer that is the Pietta. Looks just like the finnish on mine that I believe Pohill got from Taylors. Only mine has been shot a bit more. All the finished blueing comes from A. Uberti Italy, Standard Blue, Charcoal Blue, and one that was called Fire Blue I believe. Cimarron is a distributor...and will do repairs or gunsmithing.
Real nice Remington you have there actually a pair of real nice Rems.

Got your PM in my email...glad to hear that...good job.
