.357sig ... where?

Hi, I'm new here. I keep hearing all of these wonderful things about the .357sig but it is no where to be found. The dealer that I go to do not stock the ammo unless you special order it and they also do not carry any guns in that caliber unless, again, you special order them. What's the deal with this? By the way, nice place that you have here.

You're kidding?! It was more difficult to find the .357 Sig blasting ammo a couple of years ago, but now it's everywhere I go. And cheaper than it was. There's lots of discount places online that have it, too.

Where are you, anyway? Here in NM we're crawling with the stuff. It's a great round, too. (Love my Glock 33!) Welcome aboard, feathers!

Welcome aboard. Do not know what neck of the woods you hail from, but here in Texas it is easy to find with lots of ammo available, probably because the DPS went to it. Many places to get quality ammo for it on line. It is a great round, I am just a little to leary of over penetration with it.

But none of the dealers that I go to even stocks the guns for the .357sig but they will order one for you if you ask for it. If this is just a great caliber, shouldn't they have .357sigs on display?

Maybe the dealers realize that it's just a fast 9mm... ;) Actually, I still don't see as many .357Sigs as often as there could be. It might be that they are selling quickly though. I just figure if I wanted a 9mm bullet, I'd get a 9mm and save a LOT of money on ammo. Glock, Taurus, Sig, and Beretta all make models for the .357Sig cartridge.

good luck and keep us posted on your decision.

Depends on you area. 357 sig ammo is available in my isolated area off the road system in rural ak. By the way the 9mm is to the 357 sig what the 380 is to the 9mm. Velocitys with the 357 sig is anywhere from 200 to 300 fps faster depending on which ammo make you compare. If you live in the lower 48 mail order ammo is cheap and available.

I buy all my .357 Sig ammo from Collins Cartridge at www.cccammo.com. Remanufactured FMJ is only $175/1000, and NEW ammo, using Hornady XTP bullets is only $12 a box of 50. Others on these boards buy ammo here also, and we all seem to be very satisfied.

Oh, and I just noticed that he's running a special on Speer Lawman for $190/1000. That's a good $59 less than Ammo Man's cheapest .357 Sig ammo (Sellier & Bellot).
