I like and voted 3" for all around use even though I know 4" will probably win. I like the longer barrels for hunting/target. I like the 2" for ccw more than the 3" so each barrel length should be determined by intended use.

My favoured length for a 357 Magnum is 15". Most accurate. I had a Dan Wesson that was great and it had a 15" barrel. I note your all around qualifier though and I must say 5".

I voted 4", although a good case can be made for 3". It really depends on just how much CCW ergonomics factors into it, vs increased sight radius & velocity.

4" really pushes the envelope for concealability (at least for me), especially with larger frame revolvers. But the extra inch of length is worth it for everything else, and that is what made up my mind. I'll just keep a "dedicated" CCW gun around for that niche.

I tend to favor larger guns with longer barrels. It is tough for me to decide between a 4" and 6" barrel. The 4" is definitely easier to carry in the woods, but the 6" is more accurate for me and packs more punch. I mainly use the 357Mag as a woods trailgun. I would say that something like a 5" would be ideal, although I voted for the 4".

Having voted for the 4" barrel for all around use I actually prefer the 6" when it comes to old fashioned target shooting and looks. Yes I know that looks are a bad thing to go off of, but a 6" M28 just looks right.

I agree with GB_IN_GA. 4in or 6in is great for target shooting or the woods. However, I'll take a 3in for every day carry.
