.357 sig carbine?

After getting my Kel tec sub2000, I got to thinking about other possibilities. The 9mm carbine picks up some extra velocity, especially in +p loadings, imagine what a hot .357 sig would gain. Is there a carbine in .357 sig?

I don't know of one, but a carbine would be neat IMHO. I would think that due to the pressures involved, and bottle neck design, some sort of locking action might be required. In a straight blow back action, I wonder if the .357 SIG case might come out looking like a straight sided .40 S&W type case............ymmv

Since you can run 40, and even 10mm from a blowback (if you really want to) I'm sure SIG can be done without incident. I suspect you'd need a pretty massive bolt to make sure things are safe, and that would then mean you'd have some nasty slap when it bottoms out in the receiver. Blowbacks just have trouble going much above 9mm without getting heavy or unpleasant to shoot (45acp is about as high as you can go, because of its low pressures that allow a lighter bolt to be used without case failure)

Imagine what 9mm Dillon would do in a carbine. .357sig used .40 S&W as a parent case. 9mm Dillon uses the full size 10mm auto pretty much a .357 sig on steroids.
9x25 Dillon will push 115 grain bullets to 1800fps out of a 6'' barrel. Imagine 10 more inches of barrel to build velocity.

I'd imagine it'd be purdy warm!

But warmer than a good ol' fashioned 1894 leev-ra gun in .357 maggie pie? With all that extra case space fer some good ol' fashion slow burnin' powder, DOUBT IT!

Really though, sounds good, but I'll stick to my .357 magnum lever action. Serious thump. Maybe old fahsioned to some, but not this rootin' tootin' cowboy action shootin' man.

the 357SIG carbine idea has been around for a while, it's a cool idea, but the 357SIG wouldn't really gain that much out of a longer bbl. due that the 357SIG uses a fast burning powder, where as a 357 mag uses a slow burning powder and thus gains vel. and ftlbs. coming out of a longer bbl.
