I have been reloading 357 sig with 124 grain XTPs and 800x.

9.6 grains is giving me 1600 FPS and no pressure signs I backed down to 9.3 grains and am getting 1500 FPS. Should i be worried because this is above book velocities?

Glock 29 4.6" ported lone wolf barrel.

My Lyman manual shows a 125gr JHP 9.5 1394fps as a max load. I don't know how you're getting 1600 out of it, but it seems to be a safe if on the warm side. If it were me, I would back off anyway just to prevent undue punishment.

It might be best to get your FPS down on that gun. A Glock 29 is a 10 mm pistol frame with a max design of 37,500 PSI. The 357 Sig is a 38,500 PSI round. While an extra 1,000 PSI may not seem like a lot, it will provide for addition metal fatigue to the frame and at some point in time split the slide. That is the reason, I stopped shooting 357 Sig in my 40 S&W gun, 35,000 PSI vs 38,000 PSI was doing no good for the gun but did work.

If you want to continue shooting 357 Sig, I would recommend going to the Glock 31 a gun made for the 357 round.

Stay safe and be well.
Jim
