I shot a Contender single shot in 357 Max and it's a tremendous round. I keep imagining a Ruger Deer Slayer made for this round. It would be a winner in the woods.

nope, never been made. Aside from T/C, Competitor and a few specialty manufacturers, I don't think anyone makes them now. Too bad as it's a fantastic cartridge. Not big on semi-autos but I'd go for one. Rather see a lever gun in it personally. Until then, content with the H&R, Competitor and Ruger SRM here.
