I am going to buy a 357 revolver. Only 2 revolvers I have are the taurus 85 ul.and the colt andaconda. A lot of people told me to buy a S&W 686. I`m looking for a plinking gun as well as a target gun, so a 6in. would be fine. Can someone tell me about these guns! Accuracy, reliability, etc. Thanks in advance.

Nickster,

I have owned a S&W 686 (6") for 7 years. It is very reliable (never a problem), easy to maintain and highly accurate. I would recommend it without qualification. I would recommend the 6" over the 4" because of the longer sighting radius.

I haven't shot an Anaconda, so I can't compare. I have, however, shot a GP100 and liked it; however, I prefer the 686.

Good luck!

I would give the edge to the Ruger GP100 in durability, but the S&W 686 is more than tough enough, and much smoother.

For heavy work, Ruger. For fun AND heavy work, S&W.
