Trying to get opinions on the best value on bulk .357 Mag ammo and where to order... Have heard iffy reviews on Bitterroot Valley 357. Ok but dirty and sometimes lighter loads. What has been your experience and preference?

CTD? Midway? Somewhere else? What brand have you liked for bulk .357?

Thanks for the opinions.

www.mastercast.com is the best deal I have found for bulk .357 ammo. It is loaded a little on the light side, but it burns cleans and is fairly accurate. They do a brass exchange deal where if you send them your empty brass they'll give you a significant discount on loaded ammo, so save your empties and send it to them in a Fedex flat rate box. Last time I checked .38 spl wadcutters were about $10/box and .357 was $15/box

I'm reloading 100 38 Specials for less than the cost of 100 CCI Mini-Mags with my own cast boolits. I haven't did the math on 357s, j frame only here.

Sorry, I spent to much "time" looking for good deal's. only to find my stock goes away before I can get more, because they ran out.

Don't take offense, but it's just so easy to go on line and take short cut's!

I think you can read between the lines from a true ammo hunter, I'm always looking up for good deals. And yes I don't reload,......YET! Some day....

Good deal's? You are my competition.:D

Mastercast is now out of the ammunition business but will still be casting bullets:
On December 31,2012 we will cease all ammunition manufacturing. If we have any pending orders for ammo we will fill these in the order they were received. After the first of the year you will be notified that your order is ready and you will have one week to pick it up or arrange shipment. . . . This in no way applies to our cast bullet manufacturing operation, we will continue to cast and plan on expanding our line. We will also continue to carry components like the surplus powder,bullets,etc..

You can pick up very high quality Swiss RWS .357 Mag in bulk online, although I've never seen it in a local store. Sellior & Bellot makes good basic loads, also.
