.357 Highway Patrolman

Been a good day at the gun show today. I got an M-1 Carbine by Universal for $350. And I had enough money left saved up to get that .357 I was asking about a while back on another post. I took the advice of most and got a good S&W .357 Model 28-2 for $325. If I knew how to take a picture and scan it, I'd show them to y'all.

The Carbine is a little beat but makes a good shooter and even might just put it behind the seat securely in my truck as a backup gun in case I ever for some odd day happen to come a cross a dozen Osama terrorists bodyarmored up with Uzzies and my .38 special just won't stopum. ;)

The serial # of the .357 is N258###. What year was it made?

Thanks

1975-77.

A lot of folks say the Universal is unreliable but so far mine has worked just fine. I knew mine would shoot because it looked like it had already fired a million rounds before I got it from a pawn shop owner who was sick of it taking up space in the rack. He said everyone wanted to look at it but nobody wanted to buy when they saw who made it. He was asking $250 for it and I said offer me a price that I can't refuse. He said $165 OTD. By golly, he did it.

Model 28

I have had a M28 for the past 20 years and love it. A real solid gun, and I have faith that it will shoot everytime.

There is a gun show here this weekend, but from what I've seen in the past the prices are higher than the local pawn shops.
