357 energy stats

Anybody know of a link that has stopping power energy stats for 357's in a 2"?

Evan's page has the 38 in a 2" and the 357 in a 4".

I need a "mild" 357 that generates about 300 fpe in a snubnose.

Muzzle energy isn't always as directly related to "stopping" as you think. Some loads with less energy stop better than some with more.

Do the math. Velocity squared times bullet weight (in grains divided by 100) divided by 4500 gets you ME.

Some of my favorites:

Rem 125 GS/1100 fps from my 2 inch SP101:

1100x1100=1,210,000

125/100=1.25

1,210,000x1.25=1,512,500

1,512,500/4500=336 ft lbs ME

Reminton 110 SJHP/1200 fps=352 ME

Rem 125 SJHP/1240 fps=400

Win 145 STHP/1100 fps=390

charter; I just got a taurus 617 so I'm exploring this arena myself. Remington makes a Medium Velocity 357 mag load in 125 gr. WWW.PROLOAD.COM makes a load called the "TACTICAL LITE" in 357 mag. Any 110 gr. load really isn't to bad either. Good Luck, j.s.

charter; I just checked out the TRITON page and the COR-BON page and they have 38+P's in 110 gr. load that might be close to that 300fpe figure. I've tried the COR-BON 38+P 125 gr. load and it kicks like a 357 maggie. j.s.
