.357 - Broken cylinder latch?

Hi guys. My gun anatomy is a little lacking, but I have a problem with my Dan Wesson .357 Magnum. The clyinder swings open and shut just fine, but when it's shut, I can rotate the cylinder freely - no clicking or latching at all. The little silver latch underneath the cylinder is not under tension - it is laying flat, flush with the frame. Did a spring give out? Is this an easy fix?
I bought the gun at a gun show. Does DW have a lifetime warranty that covers this? If not, how much do you think it'll run at a gunsmith's shop? Thanks! :p

dwservice@cz-usa.com is the only thing I could come up with, it looks like CZ-USA bought the rights to the name and are only producing thw 1911 style guns.

It should not be too hard to figger out what is wrong with it, I ain't tinkered in a DW before, but it does sound like either a bum spring, or the latch itself broke. I would take it to a smith because alot of times them little latches require fitting.

You are talking about the bolt. Yes the bolt has a spring and pin that powers it upward. You would have to remove the sideplate to see what is wrong, but most likely it's the spring.
Did this just happen or was it like that when you got the revolver? If it was like that when you got it someone may have left out the spring or pin. You can order the parts from Gun Parts and it's simple to reinstall them. No fitting is necessary.

cylinder stop

if part is in floor of frame under cylinder..it's the cylinder stop...a relatively easy fix..look to see if cylinder itself is wallowed and worn badly where the stop engages...that will be a bigger problem.
