I recently purchased a Colt Combat Commander in 9mm. A friend suggested I might like to have a barrel made for it chambering the 356TSW. Bar-Sto said they will make a barrel for me. My problem is I really haven't been able to find much information about the cartridge and the conversion of the Combat Commander. A search of Internet articles and of this forum's archives hasn't produced much.

Does anyone have any sources or links to some sites or articles that will help me make up my mind on whether the conversion is worth my time and money? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it would worth the effort..Smith made a few guns for the cartridge and I believe Federal was the only manufacturer to make ammo.

I see the ammo occasionally, but not very often..

You might want to check into, only if you really want to..getting a barrel in either 38 super or WIN9x23..

9x23 is pretty cool, downside is Winchester is the only maker of factory rounds. they make 2 loads. A 125 silvertip and a 124JSP. Brass is more readily available too..WIN brass is easy to find and starline makes a 9mm supercomp which is the same length just not as thick..also 9x23 largo will fit, but not have the same ballistics.
