Howdy,

I just bought my Smith 342. :) Haven't got to shoot it yet, but I have a question about +p ammo. The owner of the shop is an old friend and gave me box of Cor-bon 110gr +p's. I know they are a bit hotter than other makers, but are they just +p or +p+? I don't wanna damage my new carry gun and I heard smith says no +p+ in the aluminum framed guns.

Thanks in advance,
Fury

It's not paranoia, they really are out to get me.

Fury - although the current crop of 110 grain Cor-Bon .38s are not quite as furious as their earlier generation, they are still plus P plus and not plus P. I suspect they would not "blow up" the little Smith but I suspect their use would shorten the lifespan of the revolver quite a bit. The older Cor-Bons were low end .357s in shorter cases and the newer ones are still very hot. I suspect they would be pretty brutal shooting out of an 11 or 12 ounce gun. I'd like to get one of the titaniums myself, so wish you good luck with yours.
