340PD & mag-na-port

I have a 340PD that I really love. I carry it in a Galco pocket holster that provides great concealment even during our AZ summer when I am always in shorts. The 340 comes out of that holster slicker than snot! I am not recoil sensitive, but I am wondering if anyone has actually had their 340 mag-na-ported. I know there are a lot of opinions out ther regarding muzzle blast and muzzle flash etc. Anyone who has shot a revolver at night already knows that there is a large amount of muzzle flash from the barrel/cylinder gap so porting will not change that much. Regarding muzzle blast, where plugs and phones and it doesn't make that much differrence at the range. I won't care about MB if I really need the gun in a self defense situation. So now that I have the pre-conceived notions out of the way, the meat of the question is "does mag-na-porting help reduce muzzle jump enough to help with follow up shots"

The benefit is outweighed by the consequences

Porting does not provide enough reduction in muzzle flip to out-weight the consequences of blast, flash, and the possiblilty of self-inflicted injury. I have seen several ported 340s for sale and I suspect it was because the owners quickly realized they made a big mistake.

I carry a 340. I shoot full power .357 magnums at every practice session. Practice using good technique and you will soon forget about porting. Do finger, hand, and wrist strengthing exercises to improve your recoil control.

In a world devoid of semiautomatics, a properly set-up Webley is the ultimate full-size self-defense handgun.
