I saw a 340 pd a while back, and remember seeing a warning stamped on the gun to never use smaller that 115 grain bullets. For curiousity's sake, I was wonderingif anyone knew why.
 
IIRC, excessive erosion of forcing cone and top-strap. Light hot loads. I think bullet creep from the case was also a worry.
