338 Win Mag loads

I am a happy camper. I just got my hands on a Ruger #1s in 338 Win Mag. The wood is beyond belief....eye candy.

OK.....I got this beast because of the new "light" (for the 338) bullets from Barnes and Nosler.

Any one tried these loads yet and do you have any info on them. It seems this may be the "happy medium" caliber for me.

I have got a bit of work to do; ditch the quater rib and front sight, fill holes, have custon bases made, fine bead blast the bbl and grey the receiver, a touch of work on the trigger and what ever else pops up but keep the wood....

love the 338 mags

i have shot one alot but not with lite bullets they love the long heavy bullets .its nothing to get 3 inch 10 shot groups at 300 yards with my m70.thats with a 200 grain hornady or 3 inch groups at 500 with my m70 with the boss with sierra sbt 250.let me no if the lite bullets will shot.most of the time the most accurate bullets is the long one's in a given caliber.the speer 275 are very accurate as well.they love imr 7828 and imr 4350 with the 250.i bought a past recoil shield but only used it one time you get use to it real fast.dont put a junk scope on it it wont last.i did bust one stock the had it pillar bedded now its even better.
