325pd for IWB carry?

Is the S&W 325pd a viable option for carry in an IWB holster? My normal daily attire is jeans with a t-shirt untucked. I currently carry a .45 auto, but the reliability of a revolver is appealing. I just don't know if it's realistic to keep that big cylinder hidden under a t-shirt. Anybody else doing this?

It's an N-frame, man. Yes it's light, and yes it's short, but it's an N-frame. I don't doubt you could do it, and I'm sure you'll hear from poeple that do, but it's going to be a lot bigger hassle than most are willing to put up with. For IWB (which I don't honestly like with any gun), I wouldn't want to go any bigger than a K. The weight difference between a 2.5" 66 or 19 and the 625 won't matter beans in a belt rig, and you can surely get a load of satisfactory power out of a .357.

Maybe you'll make it work, but to me it seems like trying to hide a grapefruit under your shirt when an apricot would do.

I've toted my 325PD in my Comp-Tac Gurkha on many occasions. The fact that the holster rides high enough to park the cylinder above the beltline makes it a doddle.

Nice analogy, Chris W. :D Yeah, I know it's a big frame and cylinder, but it seems like it was designed with concealed carry in mind (well, don't know about that front sight. ) I saw a good price on one and was mulling it over. I've got the option now of carrying a S&W 642 or a Taurus PT-145. I prefer to carry .45 and there is a lot to be said for revolver reliability. But, it is going to be a more difficult gun to hide and I wanted to get some feedback from those who carry this particular gun.

But, it is going to be a more difficult gun to hide

As I pointed out, a good IWB holster makes it easy. Carried thus, a 3" N-frame disappears under an untucked tee shirt.

Recently, my Galco Summer Comfort for 1911's blew out a snap, and it was almost two weeks before I was able to scoop up a Royal Guard to replace it. In the interim, I went to my S&W revolver collection. There was no practical difference in bulk or concealability between my various 3" RB N-frames in my Comp-Tac Gurkha, and my various 2.5" and 3" K- and L-frames in my Bianchi Pistol Pocket.

Theory is nice, until disproven by experiment. :)

N Frames

They're like potato chips... you can't have just one :D

I have both a 327, and 325PD and they both use the same holster. I imagine a 3" 629 will as well. Previous posters are all correct... if you can believe that. It is big, so if you aren't wardrobing oversize pants in the waist, it's going to be worse with that fat cylinder sitting in there. I have holsters from www.bulmangunleather.com, and they're very good. I've worn them IWB on long drives, mixed activity, etc. The light weight does help offset the girth a bit.
